The original Detonics Mark VI had no grip safety,, just a plate, and I understand adding a grip safety isn't recommended. If someone tried to install a grip safety, you might want to get that gun checked by a gunsmith experienced with the original Detonics Combat Master. When Detonics USA is caught up with their production, they might have time to inspect your gun. The Mark VI came with the rubber Pachmayr grips. The walnut grips were standard on the other models, but lots of people replaced them with the Pachmayr grips. I have an extra set of the walnut grips somewhere.
