Offshore Powerboat Racing Division Finals to be Held in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio September 8th, 9tb, and 10th.
The Great takes Offshore Racing Association announced today that the OFFSHORE SERIES GRAND PRIX finale will be held on September 8, 9, and 10 in Geneva- on-the-.Lake, Ohio. This will be the final- race of the season here on the Great Lakes 'for the APBA Central Division. High performance boats like Rascal, Slam Jams, Tsunami, Litre Performance marine, Cat Can Do, Team International, Final Persuasion,SMG Express, Ahsta LaVista Baby, Not Guilty, Let it Roll, Ili" Bad, Road Hard, Excali'ber and others are all expected to compete for necessary points before heading to the offshore World Championship Tied in November in Key West, Florida.
To kick--off the big event which will be filmed by Aero EFX Productions from California and featured on the Sports Channel retwork, several boats will be displayed with team members along with representatives from Geneva-on-the-Lake at Jacobs Field On Thursday, September 7th during the soldout Indians game.
Pre-race activities begin on Saturday, September 9t-ft at Geneva State Park Marina where the boats and teams will be preparing for race day and available for pictures and to answer questions. There will also be a parade of boats through the streets of Geneva-on-the-Lake and the surrounding area at aboat 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, racing begins at noon from the marina area with viewing east along the shore line. Race watch areas include in addition to the marina, Township Park, Uncle Ton's Cabins and Lakeview Resorts, the area at Rt. 534 and 531 and the upper deck of the Pavilion Restaurant. The deck area at Angel mias is also a great viewing spot. "Wave to Wave" coverage will again be provided by WREO Radio with our own Marty Tynch at the make.
