The new factory, Detonics USA, is producing rear sights like the MK V Combat Masters used to have: i.e. in four different heights. They're solid, non-snagging, and driftable, with a center "staking" set screw. No sharp edged little blades to contend with. You could buy one from the factory in the tallest height. If it then hits high, you could file off the top a little and cold blue it. The headgunsmith says that if you remove .004 inch, it will shift the point of impact 1 inch at 25 yards. Or you could buy the next lower rear sight, which would change the point of impact by about 4 inches at 25 yards. If your intended target is 7 yards away, he won't know the difference!
